AVN does nothing to support our business, never have. They only care about video, and themselves. Many people are still lining their pockets. People should wake up, and stop making them rich.

We have a small booth there. I would rather split it with about 10 companies for Vegas though.

If it was up to me, I would not do a booth. But, people would miss our pizza and the central meeting place to get for the pizza.

We have not had problems in Miami with ordering pizza. Danny C is in charge of pizza this year, I am sure he will deliver at any cost.

In defense of AVN on that, I would say most conventions charge to get access.

If you got a booth they allocate tickets/passes too.

BTW - What's profitable enough mean? AVN is in the tradeshow and advertising business. They get their money from everywhere

I tell you the amount of money I have spent on my booth is retarded! It just keeps adding up and up! Plus the amount of hassle and bullshit is insurmountable!

Fucking AVN shares our information with their "trusted suppliers" and we keep getting calls and e-mails from people trying to sell us shit.

Fucking sucks!

Yeah, plus $150 is rather cheap. Most tradeshows charge upwards of $500 - $2000. Like Search Engine Strategies charged $995 last I checked. Quite a hefty fee by comparison to AVN. Granted it does keep the show for professionals only

Some people have justifiable complaints against them, the problem is that other people who have little understanding of their business model get on the critisms.

They are a business, they are not a volunteer set up. They also have to work within the guidelines of doing adult entertainment gatherings at mainstream hotels. Those hotels put their own restraints on them.

They can improve their webmaster relations and organization of shows, but some of it is pretty normal when you consider any trade show in the mainstream.
