Maybe the ad was intended to speak about themselves.

I dont think the end is near, but it wont hurt you to think about accepting alternative payment options .. especially when they cater to a different demographic then credit cards

Not sure if credit cards will go away. They're too popular. I can see Visa getting smacked at some point for all their heavy-handed shit tho.

What % of Visa/mc business is adult?

Could they afford to lose it to keep the churchgoers happy?

I'm sure that company would love for that to happen, but there's no way it ever will. There's to much money in it.

Oh yes, we account for a VERY small portion of their charges and a very high portion of their complaints/chargebacks/customer service/etc. They would love to legally make us be completely unable to use them.

I don't think credit cards will go away, at least not in the next 10 years but i feel that regulations are going to become tougher and tougher on our industry. It is always a good option to look for new alternatives but then again what guarantees that they will last ?

I don't think it is a matter of credit cards going away either, although there is risk in everything in this biz. It is more a matter of throughput as more good transaction get declined in an attempt to comply with tighter regulations.

Regardless, checks are under a lot LESS pressure, are a very viable payment option for US consumers and are by far the second largest payment option available to most merchants.

I invite pay sites to try WTS / ACHdebit where we will only charge on checks that clear!

I asked a CCbill rep at the Montreal show last year what % of Visa transactions are adult related. He said less than 1 % and that were lucky they deal with us at all for the headache we cause with chargebacks and fraud. Hopefully we can get our jobs back at Wendys if they cut us off.

So on a volume of 1% of transactions they allow 1% chargebacks........how generous of them.
